Set up the Vendor Contacts

Level: Administrator

This is where you set up the Contact Settings for your Vendors, so you can define the Vendor Types and any custom fields:

Access Vendor Settings


  • Navigate to Settings > Module Settings > Contact > Vendor.  The vendor tab displays under contact settings.

The Vendor Tab in contact settings is where Vendor Types are defined. Use these fields when creating new vendors for better organization, making them easier to find and filter.

Vendor Types


Vendor Types are used to group vendors in the Vendor Management screen.

Add Vendor Types

  1. Click the vendor types + button.

  1. In the Name field, enter in the vendor types.
  2. Click off the field and it is saved.

Edit Vendor Types

  1. Click on the existing vendor type and the pop-up displays.

  1. If you want to rename the labor code, then complete the following:
    1. Click the Rename button.
    2. Edit the vendor type.
    3. Click the Rename clipboard_e64a0957d44b880bcd9fe65cdefb201d7.png icon to save.

If you need to delete the vendor type, click the Delete button. If the customer status is in use then the system will not let you delete the vendor type.

Custom Fields


You can add extra custom fields to the Vendor Contact and these will display in the Vendor form.

Add Custom Fields

  1. Click the custom fields + button and the Custom Fields dialog displays.

  1. From the list select a custom field. If you need to create a new custom field, then see Create or Edit Custom Fields.
  2. Click the Add button and the custom field is added.

Make a Custom Field mandatory or optional

  • To make the field mandatory, click the Not Required clipboard_eef228679cbb5db37957f7a20a419e3e4.png icon and change it to Required clipboard_e769b4544d7a775a5f9974b584a13e532.png  or vice versa.

Delete a Custom Field from the Employee Settings

  • Click the X icon, next to the custom field's name.

Reorder the Custom Fields 

  1. Hover over the custom field.
  2. Click the double ellipsis icon and then drag and drop the custom field up or down to change the order.

When you have set up the vendor contact settings and custom fields, then you will see these in the Vendor's Edit form.

  1. Navigate to Vendors.
  2. Click the vendor's name and the edit form displays.

Here you see the (A) Vendor drop-down contains the types and the (B) Custom Info contains the custom fields.
