Copy an Asset

When you acquired 4 new identical assets, then you will need to add each. With the Copy Asset, then you can set up the first one exactly the way you want, and then make duplicates of the asset. Each one will require a unique Asset Name/Asset ID, but otherwise, will be identical (including similar PM schedules, parts lists, notes, attachments, or custom fields. This will save you time and eliminate errors when creating a new asset record.

  1. Navigate to Assets. The Asset Management screen displays.
  2. In the asset list, search the the asset you want to copy.

  1. Click the asset and the Asset Details screen displays.

  1. Click the Details clipboard_ed143b0f3a26f68f8e349b6a947ca557d.png icon and the Details form displays.

  1. Click the More Actions clipboard_ec5956333c363ff850c73c0b0c0488a2d.png icon.
  2. Click Copy and the Copy Asset dialog displays.

  1. In the New AssetID field, enter in the unique identifier for the asset.
  2. If you want to copy the Schedules, Parts, Notes, Attachments, or Custom Fields into the asset, then check the relevant checkboxes..
  3. Either select:
    • Copy - This will copy the asset and you can complete the assets details later.
    • Copy and Open - This will copy the asset and open the Asset Details screen.
