Convert an Estimate into a Work Order
After an estimate is created, it is then ready for review prior to creating a work order for the customer.
Create a Work Order from an Estimate
Let's turn an estimate into a work order.
- Navigate to Invoices.
- You can either:
- Create a New Estimate.
- If there is an existing estimate, then select the existing estimate.
The New Estimate screen displays.
You can either add a line item for:
- Parts
- Labor
- Other Costs
If you want to remove a line, then hover over the line item and then click the Remove icon.
Add Part
- Click the New Line Item button.
- Click the Add Part item and the new line item is added.
- The required fields are automatically populated and you can complete the fields.
Add Labor
- Click the New Line Item button.
- Click the Add Labor item and the Add Service Tasks dialog displays.
- Search or browse for the service task.
- Select the service task.
- Click the Add to Estimate button.
Add Other Costs
- Click the New Line Item button.
- Click Add Other Costs item and a new line is added.
The required fields are automatically populated and you can complete the fields.
Save
If you are still working on the estimate, then click the Save button to save any changes.
Convert to a Work Order
After all line items are in the estimate and you are ready, then click the Create Work Order button.
Depending on the Estimate workflow, then you may have the choice to Cancel the estimate. Click the status arrow to display the other statuses.
