Set up the Customer Contacts

Level: Administrator

This is where you set up the Contact Settings for your Customer, so you can define the Customer Status and any custom fields:

Access Customer Settings


  • Navigate to Settings > Module Settings > Contact > Customer.  The customer tab displays under contact settings.

The Customer tab in contact settings is where customer statuses are defined. Use customer status to differentiate customers for better organization.

Customer Status


Customer Status is used to differentiate your customers in the Customers Management screen.

Add Customer Status

  1. Click the customer status + button.

  1. In the Name field, enter in the customer status.
  2. Click off the field and it is saved.

Edit Customer Status

  1. Click on the existing labor code and the pop-up displays.

  1. If you want to rename the labor code, then complete the following:
    1. Click the Rename button.
    2. Edit the customer status name.
    3. Click off the field to save.
  2. By default, the Active toggle is ON and if you want to de-activate this status, then click the toggle to turn it OFF.

If you need to delete the customer status, click the Delete button. If the customer status is in use then the system will not let you delete the customer status.

Custom Fields


You can add extra custom fields to the Customer Contact and these will display in the Customer form.

Add Custom Fields

  1. Click the custom fields + button and the Custom Fields dialog displays.

  1. From the list select a custom field. If you need to create a new custom field, then see Create or Edit Custom Fields.
  2. Click the Add button and the custom field is added.

Make a Custom Field mandatory or optional

  • To make the field mandatory, click the Not Required clipboard_eef228679cbb5db37957f7a20a419e3e4.png icon and change it to Required clipboard_e769b4544d7a775a5f9974b584a13e532.png  or vice versa.

Delete a Custom Field from the Customer Settings

  • Click the X icon, next to the custom field's name.

Reorder the Custom Fields 

  1. Hover over the custom field.
  2. Click the double ellipsis icon and then drag and drop the custom field up or down to change the order.

When you have set up the customer contact settings for customer status and custom fields, then you will see these fields in the Customer's Contact Profile form.

  1. Navigate to Customers.
  2. Click the customer's name and the edit form displays.

Here you see the (A) Status drop-down contains the statuses and the (B) Custom Info contains the custom fields.
