Manage Users, Groups and Permissions

Global Admins have the ability to add, edit, and delete individual user accounts, user groups, and permissions for your Teem account. The access to Teem's functionality is dependent on the permissions user accounts are assigned and the permissions are defined in the user group.

Below lists the ways that new user accounts are added to the Teem Web application:

User Provisioning and Single Sign On (SSO)

Your people are the heart of your business. Our software integrates employee data so Teem remains updated with your employees' on-boarding and off-boarding from your business.  User Provisioning is an identity management process that ensures user accounts are created, given proper permissions, changed, disabled, and deleted. This can be completed via:

  • SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity) is an open standard that allows for the automation of user management. Note that SCIM provisioning requires the use of SAML SSO.
  • SSO (Single Sign-On) allows a user to log in once to their network and thereby gain access to several network-connected programs, eliminating the need to log into each system individually.

You can use SSO or SAML on the same account and can use this method if you need to have users with different domain names.

CSV File

If you would like to create new users using a CSV, then contact our support team with "Create New Users CSV Upload" in the Subject Line.  We will make the changes on the back-end to populate your new users.

Even if you use Single Sign-On, you might want to manually add users on occasions such as a contractor or auditor so that they can reserve a desk. If you don't use Single Sign-On then you will need to add your users manually, see Add, Update, or Delete a User Manually and then you will need to add the user account to a User Group as this defines permission to certain features, see Add, Edit, or Delete a User Group.

User Groups Note

A user group contains the permissions to the functionality in Teem. All user accounts need to be assigned to at least one user group to access Teem and a user account can have one or many user groups depending on their access requirements.  If you need to update a user account permission, see Add a User Account to a User Group.
