Eptura Engage supports daily, weekly and monthly recurrences and you can set a specific recurrence to repeat a booking on particular dates in an irregular pattern. Learn more about repeat bookings and Eptura Engage

For the most part, Eptura Engage and Microsoft Outlook support the same set of repeat booking options, however, there are some differences. Eptura Engage manages these differences by either converting the booking to a specific (irregular) recurrence pattern or advising the user to amend the recurrence pattern before continuing.

How Eptura Engage manages unsupported recurrence patterns

The way Eptura Engage and the Outlook Com+ plug-in respond to unsupported recurrence patterns created in Microsoft Outlook depends on whether Exchange Sync is configured or not.

If you are using the Eptura Engage Outlook add-in and the Microsoft 365 integration, Eptura Engage uses 'smart recurrences'. Learn more about smart recurrences 

Exchange Sync is not configured: Eptura Engage converts unsupported recurrence patterns to specific recurrence patterns. However, if the total number of occurrences in a booking exceeds 52, Eptura Engage will prompt the user to amend the recurrence pattern.

Exchange Sync is configured: Eptura Engage prompts the user to amend the recurrence pattern. With Exchange Sync configured, Eptura Engage does not convert unsupported recurrence patterns for either Eptura Engage rooms or Exchange rooms.

Eptura Engage manages unsupported recurrence patterns as follows:

  • The date range for the recurrence exceeds 52 occurrences.
  • The number of occurrences entered in the End after field exceeds 52.
  • No end date is selected.

Monthly
  • The recurrence is set to repeat every 2 months or more.
  • The recurrence is set to repeat on the second, third or fourth week of the month.

Specific recurrence patterns enable bookings to be set to repeat on specific dates that don’t form a regular daily, weekly, or monthly pattern.
