SSO and the Eptura Engage mobile app

The Eptura Engage mobile app supports single sign-on (SSO) from Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge web browsers.

SSO and Microsoft Edge

When signing in through Edge, users might see the following message:

‘login.microsoftonline.com’ wants to open the external app “Eptura Engage”

Select Open external app to allow Edge to securely hand you back to the Eptura Engage mobile app to complete the sign-in process.

How to reset the selection

If the user selected 'Stay in Microsoft Edge' and opted to 'Remember my choice', Edge no longer opens the Eptura Engage mobile app to complete the sign-in process.

To reset the option, follow the steps for the device type:

iOS devices
  1. Open Microsoft Edge on the device.
  2. Tap the ⋯ (three dots) menu and select Settings > Privacy and security.
  3. Select Site permissions > External app links (or Handlers / External protocol links).
  4. Find login.microsoftonline.com.
  5. Tap Clear permission or Reset setting.
  6. Close and reopen Edge, then try signing in again. Make sure to select Open external app this time.

If you can’t find 'External app links', go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data, tick Cookies and site data, and clear it. This also resets the preference.

Android devices
  1. Open Android Settings (not Edge settings).
  2. Go to Apps > Microsoft Edge.
  3. Tap Open by default (you might need to expand 'Advanced').
  4. Tap Clear defaults.
  5. Re-open Edge and sign in again - choose Open external app when prompted.

If 'Open by default' isn’t visible, go to Settings > Apps > Microsoft Edge > Storage and cache > Clear storage and reset all site permissions. This removes Microsoft Edge history and cookies.
