Automated Check-in via ACS and Eptura Engage API service

Eptura Engage check-in via Access Control and API endpoint

Eptura Engage can use badge swipe data at the point of building entry to track employee presence and check in to booked workspaces.

If you use a supported ACS, we recommend integrating our pre-built connector. Learn moreAutomated Check-in via ACS (pre-built connector)

Customers who have not implemented Eptura Visitor and do not use an ACS supported by our pre-built connector, can connect their Access Control System (ACS) or Visitor Management System (VMS), using Eptura Engage API endpoints. Eptura Engage can then receive ACS event data and check-in validated users to their personal space bookings.

Prerequisites

How it works

Integrating Eptura Engage with your ACS events allows users with personal space bookings to automatically check in to their workspace when they swipe their badge at the card reader. You can achieve this by using Eptura Engage APIs; the process to configure is as follows:

  1. Access Control System: A user enters the building and swipes their badge at the ACS card reader. The ACS detects the swipe or scan event and passes the user's email address data to Eptura via the Eptura Engage API.
  2. Eptura Engage APIs:
    1. Validate the user's email address against the users in Eptura Engage.
    2. If the user exists, check for a personal space booking on the day and at the location.
    3. If a booking exists, check the user in to their booking.

If Intelligent booking is enabled and a personal space is not already booked, Eptura Engage can intelligently book a space for the employee using learned behavior. Learn more: ✨Intelligent booking.
