Booking types for personal spaces

There are three booking types for personal spaces – fixed, flexi, and bookable.

Fixed spaces

A fixed space is a personal space assigned to a user (semi) permanently. Assigned users do not need to book the workspace in advance or check in to the booking. When fixed spaces are not in use, they can be released and made available for others to book. When a fixed space is released, it behaves like a regular bookable personal space and can be booked by anyone with appropriate permissions.

Booking an alternative workspace: If you are assigned to a fixed or flexi space and you book a different personal space, depending on the booking rules configured for the group, your assigned space may be automatically released for the period the alternative personal space has been booked.

Flexi spaces

A flexi space is similar to a fixed space as it can also be allocated to a particular user for a specific period and released when no longer needed. However, unlike a fixed space, the assigned user must check in to the booking. If the user does not check-in, the booking may be bumped (depending on the booking rules defined for the group). When a flexi space is released or bumped, it behaves like a regular bookable personal space and can be booked by anyone with appropriate booking permissions.

If a flexi space is released via a Condeco desk booking screen it is released for the whole day. Use the web application or mobile app to release the space for a half-day only (if your organization's configuration allows it).

Booking an alternative workspace: If you are assigned to a fixed or flexi space and you book a different personal space, depending on the booking rules configured for the group, your assigned space may be automatically released for the period the alternative personal space has been booked.

Bookable spaces

A bookable space is free to be booked by anyone with appropriate booking permissions. Bookable spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
