Integration Setup 

In Genetec, templates and identifiers create visitors and grant Eptura Visitor visitors access. Configuration values support different customer requirements, helping ensure visitor access remains secure and aligns with site-specific needs.

To learn more about how Eptura Visitor interacts with Genetec, see the Eptura Visitor Access Control Overview. The following assumes familiarity with Eptura Visitor, Genetec, and the Eptura Visitor Access Control integrations.

Terminology 

  • In Eptura Visitor, you can assign a location (CO-) to a specific partition in Genetec. All Eptura Visitor activity associated with that CO- is then assigned to that partition.

    A CO- can represent any level of your organization, depending on your requirements. For example, it might represent a tenant in a multi-tenant building, a company location such as Genetec London Headquarters or Genetec Amsterdam Headquarters, or a sub-location area such as the Genetec London Loading Dock. This flexibility allows you to structure partitions in a way that best supports your operational and security needs.

    To set up your location in a specific partition, tell the Eptura Visitor representative during the setup process.

  • Eptura Visitor's access statuses - Expected, On-site, Checked-in, and Checked-out - are assigned as access levels in Genetic cardholder groups. This allows permissions to be managed centrally and applied consistently to all visitors within each group.

    Manual renaming of cardholder groups is not supported. Although a rename might initially appear to work, it can result in a new cardholder group being created with the original name. If you experience any issues related to cardholder groups, contact support for assistance.

  • Genetec does not support departments. Instead, Eptura Visitor uses cardholder groups and creates a dedicated no-access group, allowing visitor records to be identified and managed consistently.
