Check and update your device and Proxyclick app versions

Running an out-of-date app can cause unexpected issues and prevent the Proxyclick kiosk from functioning as expected, so this is one of the first things to check when troubleshooting an issue.

Check the app version


You can check the Android or iOS version of your device from the Kiosk list in Proxyclick settings.

  1. In Proxyclick, navigate to Settings > Visitors > Kiosk list to view details for each kiosk connected to the location. 
  2. The version of the Android or iOS device is displayed for each kiosk.

Update the Android or iOS version


If a new Android or iOS version is available, follow the steps below to update your device.

Android
  1. Tap the Settings icon on the Android device.

  2. Tap System and then System Update.

  3. Tap Check for update to see if a newer Android version is available.

  4. Follow the steps on the device to install an update if one is available.

When the Android version is up-to-date, follow the steps below to check and update the Proxyclick app from the Play Store.

iOS
  1. Tap the Settings icon on the iOS device.

  2. Tap General and then Software Update.

  3. If an update is available, tap Download and Install.

Installing an update is a two-step process of downloading and then installing the update. Follow the steps on the device to complete the process.

When the iOS version is up-to-date, rollow the steps below to check and update the Proxyclick app from the App Store.

Update the Proxyclick app


When the Android or iOS device software is up-to-date (see above), follow the steps below to check and update the Proxyclick app.

Android
  1. Tap the Play Store icon and search for Proxyclick Visitor Management

  2. The button under the app displays 'Open' if the app is up-to-date, or 'Update' if an update is available. If an update is available, tap Update.
  3. When the update is complete, the button displays 'Open'. Tap Open to launch the Proxyclick app.
iOS
  1. Tap the App Store icon and search for Proxyclick Visitor Management.

  2. The button to the right of the app displays 'OPEN' if the app is up-to-date, or 'UPDATE' if an update is available. If an update is available, tap UPDATE.
  3. When the update is complete, the button displays OPEN. Tap OPEN to launch the Proxyclick app.

Open the app and sign in


Following an update, you must sign in again when the app is opened. To sign in, you will need the activation code for the device. 

To find the activation code, navigate to Settings > Visitors > Kiosk list and click the Edit button for the kiosk device.
