Viewing a Dashboard

Click the Reports Module icon on the left-hand ribbon.

Click the Dashboards option.

From the list of available dashboards, select the dashboard you would like to view.

Once you select your dashboard, you will see a screen similar to the following View Dashboard screen.

The components of the View Dashboard screen are detailed in the table below.
Name | Function |
Edit Details Button | Provides the ability to edit the details of your dashboard. You can perform the following:

Edit Dashboard Button | Selecting this allows you to edit your dashboard. |
Done Button | Selecting this button closes your current dashboard and returns you to the list of available dashboards. |
Note: Keep the following in mind when viewing a dashboard that has input controls:

An input control may appear as a text field, a drop-down, a check box, a multi-select list box, o ra calendar icon.

If one of the frames in a dashboard does not refer to an input control, that frame does not update when you change that input control's value. Only reports that refer to the input control reflect the change.
Creating a Dashboard
In order to create a dashboard, perform the following steps:

Click Reports > Dashboard. The Dashboard screen opens.

Click the Create Dashboard button. The dashboard designer appears, displaying the list of content and the canvas.

Under the Available Content section, drag the content you want to include in your dashboard to the right pane. The selected content now appears on the canvas.

Click the Save button to save any changes you make to your dashboard. Or you may click the preview button
Note: If you do not want to save your changes, click the Close Editor or Done buttons. Also, in order to add a report or Ad Hoc view to a dashboard, you must have permissions to view the specific content.
Editing a Dashboard

Click Reports > Dashboards.

From the list of dashboards, click the dashboard you would like to edit. The Edit Dashboard screen opens.

Click the Edit Dashboard button. The Dashboard Editor screen opens.

Add any content from the Available Content section and drag onto the dashboard canvas. Likewise, to remove any content already on the canvas, right-click the item and select Delete.

Once you are done making changes to your dashboard, click the Save button.

You may also save if you click the preview button to view your dashboard, then click the preview button again to return to the designer. The save icon appears immediately to the right of the preview button. You may then click the save icon and save either as: Save Dashboard or Save Dashboard As.

Note: If you are satisfied with your dashboard changes, click the Save Dashboard option. However, if you would like to create a new version of the dashboard, click the Save Dashboard As option. If you would prefer to not save the changes to your dashboard, click the Close Editor icon.
Previewing a Dashboard
Previewing a dashboard allows you to view it as an end-user would see it.
In order to preview your dashboard, perform the following steps:

Click Reports > Dashboards. The Dashboard Screen opens.

Click the dashboard you would like to preview. The selected dashboard opens.

Click the preview
icon. The dashboard opens in preview mode.

In order to close the preview and return to the Dashboard Designer, click the preview
icon.
Adding Controls to a Dashboard
Once you add a report that has input controls to a dashboard, the controls don't appear on the dashboard until you explicitly add them, one-by-one. Once the report runs, dashboard users provide input using the control. Data based on the user input appears in the dashboard.
In order to add controls to a dashboard, perform the following steps:

Click Reports > Dashboards.

Click the dashboard you would like to add controls. Or, click the Create Dashboard button to create a new dashboard.

In the Filters section, expand the folder (click the + sign next to the folder) of the filter you would like to add. The available input controls for that filter are now listed.

Drag the control you want to add onto the canvas and place it where you want it to appear in your dashboard. The added input control and its label appear where you placed it.

Click the Save As icon and select Save Dashboard, then click the preview
button.

Clicking the control provides you with a variety of options (based on the control). You also have the following options:

All: selects all available values in the input control
-
None: deselects all available values in the input control.

Inverse: deselects any selected values, and selects the unselected values.

Click Apply to make any changes to your control.

Click
to return to the Dashboard Designer.
Note: You may also change the labels, or display names, of individual input controls and filters within a dashlet.
Renaming an Input Control or Filter
In order to rename an input control or filter, perform the following steps:
Filter

Right-click the input control dashlet and select Properties. The Filter Properties dialog opens.

Change the Filter Label to the name of your choice and click OK.
Input Control
-
Right-click the input control and select Properties.
-
Change the filter label to the name of your choice and click OK. The input controls are updated.
