Operator Companion Web App Overview

The Operator Companion allows the operators, drivers, and users of your equipment to perform Inspections, using the Operator Companion web app. The web app is available to be used by all licensed Operators.

Let's have a look at the web app and become familiar with the screens:

  • Home
  • Assets
  • Scan
  • Inspections 
  • Log out

Home

The home screen contains a list of the following:

  • Recently used assets
  • Recently completed inspections.

Assets

From the menu, tap Assets and the list of assets that relate to the inspections display.

Scan

From the menu, tap Scan and the scanner is active and ready to scan an asset's bar code. This will display the asset and any available inspections.

Inspections

From the menu, tap Inspections and list displays the inspections that are in progress and in the other tab the completed inspections display.

 Inspections can be created in the Eptura Asset web application. Learn more in the Inspections Module Overview and Inspection Overview VideoThen the Operators of the equipment can then perform them through the Operator Companion web app. You will see the inspection has the same look and feel in both web apps.

Required tasks will be highlighted with a special indicator.

Create an Inspection

Operators of the equipment don't have to wait for Maintenance Managers to create an inspection. With the Operator Companion, Operators can search for the desired Asset and start the inspection...

...or they can use the Scan feature to scan the Asset barcode, which will bring up the desired asset and display the available inspections

Inspection Status

Inspections that are already underway, will have a flag that says    IN PROGRESS

If the Operator attempts to open an inspection already in progress, they will see an alert asking them to decide between two options: 

  • Back out of the inspection (    Never Mind    )
  • Restart the inspection (    Start Over    )

Examples

DVIR pre-trip.png Drivers can perform state and federally required Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR), instantly reporting any issues that are discovered.
OSHA regs.png Equipment operators can easily show they are in compliance with OSHA regulations, requiring them to conduct daily safety checks prior to operation.

Results of an Operator's inspection are instantly relayed to Eptura Asset web app.

Maintenance Managers can see in real-time, the current status of an ongoing inspection, and read the operator's findings even before the inspection is completed.
