Automated vs Manual Space Creation

Below explains what happens when you upload a floor plan using our plugins or when you add spaces manually.

Automated

When you have a floor plan ready for upload, then you can use our AutoCAD plugin or Revit plugin to publish the floor plan into Eptura and then the spaces are automatically uploaded. 

After you have imported the floor plan and spaces using the plugin then:

  • location (for example Atlanta Head Office - 01 Floor) will associated to the drawing (for example Atlanta_01.dwg).
  • you won't be able to add a space manually and the "Add Space" button doesn't display.

Manually

When you haven't used the AutoCAD and Revit plugin then you can add spaces manually, learn more in Add or Edit Space Manually.

Important Note

If you decide later to import the floor plan and spaces using the plugin then this will delete the manually created spaces.
